Merry Christmas

Since I always have a hard time remembering where we went and who we were with I wanted to make sure I took a minute to record our comings and goings for the 2011 holiday season. We started Thanksgiving and Nana and Grandpa's house in Olympia with a big crowd. Nana, Grandpa, Papa, Ivan, MaryO, Vance, Oni, Kym, Scarlet, Jayce, Lance, Erika, Rowdy, Adam, Kendal and I all stayed two nights at the Ranch before we headed to The Great Wolf Lodge for the rest of the weekend.
For Christmas we went to Olympia for Swedish meatballs with Nana and Grandpa the 22nd and headed to Port Orchard after Swedish pancakes on the 23rd. Grammy and Papa had a Christmas party and Uncle Aaron and Aunt Tavia came for the weekend too. We went to New Life church in Silverdale on Christmas Eve. The 26th we headed back to Amboy but stopped in Olympia for another special holiday turkey dinner.

Borrowing Pictures

Adam has been fighting fire for the last week and a half. He had been in SE Montana for a while but they moved his crew to the big fire near Mt Hood recently. They are at a fire camp near Warm Springs with about 40 crews and 1000 people. In the meantime, Koshka, Zora, Kendal and I came up to spend some time with Nana and Grandpa and will head up to see Grammy and Papa tomorrow. While I am here, I thought I would borrow some pictures from my Mom.
This is one of my favorite belly pictures. I think it was taken the day before Kendal was born. This was another favorite from my mom's camera. She was trying to get a picture of Kendal and Kendal was looking down. At that point it was hard to get her attention but she was always interested in her dog. I called Zora in the room just so Kendal would look up but Zora thought we wanted her in the picture. She jumped on the bed and gently nestled in next to her. I couldn't have set this picture up if I had tried. Hopefully more later.

Kendal

Finally, a successful blog, at least, for now. Thanks to my sis-in-law, Erika, I finally have a blog that I should be able to use. My first decent post is just this awesome shot by Erika at our family reunion on my mom's side last July. We went camping up at near Darrington, WA at the Squire Creek campground. I feel a little overwhelmed at the seemingly impossible task of catching up on all the blogging that I wish I had been doing this last year and a half so I will just start fresh and if I get a chance I will do some flashback posts.

Another Post Failure

I wonder if I ever get this blog going if I will be able to get rid of these negative posts. It seems my post last week was only successful in the title because the words didn't show up. Not like I am doing anything different today but I will see how this one goes. Cheers.

Blog Failure

I thought I would try one more time to make this blogging thing work. I didn't have any success in the past but I was maybe trying to do too many things at once. I should try and get these simple words to post before I attempt pictures and stuff. Here goes.

At Last

I had high hopes for getting this going months and months ago, yet, somehow it is June and this is my first post. I hope to be a much better blogger in the futue. I suppose I will have much more to say when the baby is finally here. In the meantime, I will try and recap a little.
A little surprised and very excited, we found out we were expecting a new family member last December. It was a fantastic Christmas present. The morning, or, all day sickness started shortly after but only lasted a few weeks. There were other pregnancy symptons that were suddenly gone and we were concerned about a miscarriage but God has been protecting this little one from day one.
I didn't feel pregnant for a long time since I had no symptons and wasn't showing at all for a while. It seems like it was a gradual realization but I have enjoyed every minute of it.
At our 20 week dr appointment we had an ultrasound that let us know we were having a baby girl!
